“Angus” was a once in a lifetime dog. While we have had wonderful dogs before Angus, I am sure we will never be so lucky as to get another one like him! Not only was he a true show dog he was a great friend and companion. I was lucky to have had him at a time in my life where I could show him myself. Angus was Number 1 Bullmastiff Breed in 2000 and Number 1 All Breed in 1999. He was winner of 5 All Breed Best In Shows, 8 Specialty Best in Shows, 280 BOB’s, 30 group 1sts, 31 group 2nds, 25 group 3rds, and 40 group 4ths. The fact that he was breeder owner handled, shows what a great dog he truly was.
Angus was 26 ½ inches tall and 130 lbs. He was a very sound, athletic, agile dog with a great side gait. He had a level top line, great tail set, level mouth with a wide jaw. His stunning profile was etched in many people’s mind and left a positive impression on the judges and fancy alike.. His rear was something I loved most about him. He had such a good temperament and personality my friends 3 year old showed him in a fun match of pee wee handlers. He got along with all other dogs male and female. If I could have changed anything on him it would have been to give him a bit more chest and a little more width of cheek and of course a smaller ear! He has produced many nice puppies on a very limited breeding basis. One of the legacy’s that you can find in his get is that level topline coming down through the generations. His ability to adapt to anything and anyone with grace can be seen in his get as well. He has a history making son in “Archie” who has the first VCD1 in the breed history. His full sister from a repeat breeding is one of the few ladies to win a national speciality. “Porter” ( Ch. Tondra’s Perfect Porter) achieved this honor in 2000, at the age of 18 months
Angus died unexpectedly at almost 7 years of age. Although we wish he would have lived a much longer life. He did make the best of the time he was here both in the ring, as a sire, and as our best friend.
