Jagofpeeko Wood Betony was shipped from England on a bright spring day. After hour and hours in a crate in a plane, she was unloaded at the Cargo Terminal and finally was let out. She came out with tail wagging and good humor and bright joy around her like a banner! In the years since, she has not changed either her attitude or her brightness. Our “Phoebe” has added joy to our lives. Laughter, and warmth., love and affection, intelligence and humor- all of the things that make “bright” the proper name for her. Her first litter was thirteen- all hale and healthy- all raised to adulthood. No problems with them or with her once the initial birth had been processed. Since she had uterine inertia, she was delivered by C-Section. At that time, rather than put her at risk again, we spayed her. But of that litter, six have become champions, two are pointed, one needing only a major, and the other barely shown, but a handsome and healthy dog. Who will finish once his owner determines to let him out of his sight long enough to be exhibited. One of her sons is a companion dog to a totally handicapped child. Doing what Bullmastiffs do best, providing help and care, and doing the work that he loves for his beloved boy. At this time, only one of her daughters had a litter, but she delivered 12 beautiful pups naturally, and all survived, too. A fine, healthy, happy, fecund addition to our line, our home and our lives. Phoebe has been and will continue to be one of our principal joys in life. That touch of “brightness” that all aspire to, and so few achieve.’.!
