“Bart” was a gentle happy, outgoing, loving and stable dog. a dog, that was as good with the puppies as he was with other adults in the family. He stood at the topside of the standard but within it , was a very dark rich red, with a clear deep black mask that emphasized the almost square skull. His bite was perfect, and his movement smooth and silky. It is wonderful that his get also had extremely good movement and mouths. He also passed his terrific temperament on to them. His sweetness of nature was so pronounced that should any of the bitches in his “harem” get testy, he gently prodded them away from each other to prevent discord.
He was unusually intelligent, and had an instinct for the moods of his people, two legged as well as four. The majority of his pups were large handsome and good natured. Most of them could of been shown but went to pet homes. The only fault in his appearance was that his eyes were a bit larger and rounder than absolutely ideal. His health was remarkable (except for knee surgery, bought on by servicing bitches) We lost him at 11 years of age, and even then
his appearance was that of a dog many years younger.
