Boomer was a tall, heavy boned dog with a short, straight back, strong rear and an outgoing, delightful temperament. He was returned to us when he was three years old after his owners moved. Boomer was completely trained when he came to our home, so I decided to put a companion dog title on him. Smart and rather mischievous, Boomer understood that when he was in the obedience ring, I couldn’t correct him, nor would he get rewarded with
food. Needless to say, our obedience runs were often a source of amusement for everyone but me. Boomer became our housedog and was always by my side. He died suddenly of apparent heart failure while we were out of town; I still miss him every single day.
