“Sheba” was our very first pup to be born, thus becoming the first “HappyLegs”. She was from a litter of four: none of which were finished, and she was the only to be bred. Sheba, red-fawn in color, matured to 25 inches and 110 pounds. While her “ridgeback” head pre- vented her from completing her championship, she did possess a beautiful front assembly, which included correct shoulder layback and tight “Doberman” feet, as well as an excellent rear. She was bred first to Ch. Bandog’s Johnny Bull and then to a Johnny Bull son, and these two breedings were successful in combining her soundness with a beauiful headpiece.
After a three year hiatus from motherhood, Shelba whelped a litter out of her great grand- son, Ch. HappyLegs Cherokee’s Chief. As she approached her eighth birthday, Sheba devel- oped degenerative disc disease which paralyzed her: she was gently put to sleep on April 29 1994.
