Jax was our second bullmastiff. We have had a good number of bullies since and Jax was easily the smartest of them all. We often said she was too smart for her own good. The only one who could bring out the “silly” in her was my husband, Rick. She was a lady at all other times – regal and elegant.
Jax had beautiful cobby structure, perfect ear set, slightly undershot bite, and fluid movement, but she hated the show ring. Jax was shown consistently, but we finally gave in to her and pulled her from the ring just one major shy of completing her championship. Jax passed on her wonderful pedigree to 11 puppies in two litters. Most of the puppies went to loving pet homes, but those who did show had good success.
We lost Jax very suddenly in November, 2002 and are proud that her offspring could secure her a ROM. She is deeply loved still and sorely missed.
