CH George’s Royal Duke

Virginia Rowland remembers Duke as a fawn male that was the house dog of George and Evelyn Walkinshaw. Her recollection of him is that he was a dog of medium size, - approximately 26 inches at the shoulder and 130 pounds. His outstanding features were his beautiful head and pigmentation.
He was shown to his championship by Bob and Jane Forsyth. Their kennel man managed Duke’s breeding’s - there was nothing more relaxing than to drive the bitch to the kennel, wait a few minutes in the waiting room and then be informed that the dogs were bred. Duke was Best in Sweeps and Winners Dog at the ABA National Speciality at Ox Ridge. He was a typey, compact dog: was very sound and a good mover. Many of his get possessed his lovely head and expression and his compact body.
