We just lost “Shadow”. She would have been twelve years old in July. She dropped dead from no obvious cause. She had not been sick. Shadow was a deep red with perfectblack markings, great head and chest but had a bad bite. She once beat her famous Best In
Show brothers in the ring but was not “specialed”. She was 24 inches tall and built like the proverbial brickhouse weighing 115 pounds. One of her sons was number 10 in the United States the year we had five in the Top Ten nationally. Shadow was feisty as a baby but became very sedate as an older lady. She was always at her best being loved, and gave her affection freely. She spent her last three months with our friend Harri Fenske, due to her difficulty climbing stairs.
