We have all had one, a puppy that speaks to our heart. For me, that dog was Windy. She was born just after a hurricane swept through R.I., thus her name. She didn’t have a “show temperament” but finished easily with some very impressive wins. She was not outgoing; but everyone who met “Windy the Wonder Dog” loved her. Very few of her puppies were shown; but those who were finished and went on to produce another lovely generation.
After her last litter she and my young son, Seth adopted each other. She allowed him to take her for endless walks, listened to him practice reading and shared everything from dog bones to ice cream cones. Windy was a beautiful red brindle with a level bite and top line. She moved beautifully on cat like feet. She was born in 1985 and died at home in 1995.
