How do you describe a girl like Candy Cane, perhaps: “A Show Girl”, “What a wonderful worker”, “She’s a beauty’, these are a few of the terms used by people who know this wonderful bitch. “Candy Cane” is a top of the standard, square, plain headed bitch with exceptional movement and personality. She also produced some exceptional dual titlest’s. Ch. Bastion’s Red Haute Annie CDX ( Edmondson) and Ch. Bastion’s Golden Hind CD (Spohr) who are still continuing their careers as I write by currently training in agility and advanced obedience work and are shown in the Obedience section of this Book..
We bred Candy twice, once as a line breeding and once as a outcross. Candy threw pretty much the same - middle to top of the standard, exceptional moving and working get with plain to adequate heads. At 8 1/2 years she still loves to work and is a happy girl every waking moment. Her major faults are hare feet, plain head and white toenails. Her addition to our bloodlines are her exceptional working ability, structure and movement..
Candy and her sister Maud have done every thing together, WB & RWB at the SW Regional Speciality with their brother taking WD. Both achieved American and Canadian titles with ease and even though Candy is the better obedience dog it was Maud that went High in Trail at one of our National Specialties. They both sleep on the same couch and fight on the same side of the fence. We are blessed to have these sisters. As I am typing this I can see both Candy and Maud out the window wolfing at a jogger going by. The only area of discontent between these two sisters is that Candy feels it is unfair that she got all the gray and Maud got none.
