“Remus” was Bandog’s first brindle stud dog. Remus was a short dog, 25 inches, but what he lacked in height he made up in substance, approximately 125 pounds, and soundness. He had an outstanding front and rear, but lacked in the muzzle. He was used on a variety of bitches, always producing his superior temperament and not always passing on his weak muzzle. His strong front was firmly implanted in the Bandog/Banstock bloodline. His pedigree has been passed on to several prominent kennels of the 1980’s. Remus was WD and BOW at the first Greater New York Bullmastiff Specialty for five points and finished his Championship quickly. He was first used at stud at nine months of age and was actively used for several years thereafter. Remus retired in Florida with one of his co-owners, Louise Sanders, and lived to about ten years of age.
