“Julie” was whelped May 22, 1974.  We had previously owned and finished another Bakerstreet bitch who was, unfortunately, unsuitable for breeding. Julie was a fawn bitch measuring 24 1/4 inches tall and weighing an average of 115 pounds.  Her bite was undershot, but her teeth were well spaced.  She should have finished her Championship, but a combination of events made that an unfinished dream.  She was shot by a poacher at close range at a year and a half of age and took a while to recover.  She was bred twice, first to Am & Bda Ch. Keytu Tegar’s Rontu ROM and second to Ch. Stonykill’s Red Devil ROM. These thirteen puppies included six Champions, four ROMs and the Best in Show and multiple ABA National Specialty BOB winner, Ch. Ladybug Staff Sargent ROM.  Julie was alert, active, and loved children and puppies.  She, like her dam, Ch. Bairn’s Image of Elsinore ROM, was a natural born mother and was at her very proudest and best when showing off a new litter to visitors. She was Kelly Roach’s constant companion and friend, even to the point of attending her high school graduation and going off to Rutgers University where she was a soccer mascot.  Julie’s most outstanding feature was her beautiful, luminous expression and wrinkle pattern, which is still evident in her descendents today.  She could have used a better topline, but she did not pass that fault on to any of her offspring.  She died of cancer at age seven.
