“Honeybear” was a fawn bitch measuring 25 inches at the withers. She was whelped on July 3, 1979. Honeybear warmed her way into the hearts of Joanne and Jim Swanson, who intended only to purchase a pet Bullmastiff. With her owners be- ing previously cat fanciers, they appreciated a quality animal and therefore agreed to let me show her. She finished her Championship rather quickly. She then retired to the whelping box to produce two lovely litters. She was a very graceful mover and passed this on to her offspring, along with her good bite and even disposition. Her obvious faults are a light mask and a soft topline. Her retired years were spent on the couch, enjoying classical music and greeting customers in the flower shop owned by the Swansons. Honeybear passed away from cancer at the age of nine years.
