“Lacy” was a red bitch who fell down three steps and ruptured her cruciate. Fortunately, she had just finished obtaining her Championship a few months before this happened. She maintained a limp even after repair and made her career in the whelping box. She was an excellent mother – her great temperment allowed us to have her whelp her last litter in our
family room only three days after Ch. Blazin’s Cherokee whelped an 11 puppy litter. There was only 18” between the 2 whelping boxes and all the other house dogs, (2 adult males and 4 adult females). I feel her strength was that of elegance, with just enough mass and breed type.
She had dark eyes, black nails, good size and bone as well as good movement. Her faults were that of being a tad long in back, although this seems more acceptable in a bitch, we preferred to breed shorter backs. Lacy had a slight gothic-arch chest and we would have preferred darker pigment and a broader muzzle. Lacy carried the gene for “cinnamon dudleys” and had a one puppy litter to Ch. Blazin’s Brahma Bull who was a gorgeous dark-red cinnamon dudley. By crossing her to “Dunnit” and “Brahma” we were able to get broader muzzles and shorter backs. She currently has 11 Champion offspring with several more offspring being shown.
